Thank you Monica! Those boots pulled me in when I noticed them. The urgency of their "plight" was palpable. Most other photos in the slideshow are visuals that I gravitated to for one reason or another.
Now, that skyline photo of the skyscraper has an interesting backstory. A resident of one of neighborhood buildings saw me photographing with the pinhole camera outside their building entrance--and offered to take me up to the resident terrace to get that amazing view. They didn't stay with me while I photographed, they let me in and told me to enjoy! So cool!
