The spaces we inhabit can be chaotic at times. They’re shared. That’s the way life is on this small planet.
The Space Between Us began as an exploration in observations and feelings about crowds and crowded spaces, including aspects about “mob mentality.” Gauging in thinking that if I felt certain ways when caught up in crowds of people, would others have similar reactions? A rhetorical question.

The space between us bends, twists, turns, expands, and contracts. Imagine an electric impulse string connecting you to me no matter the time or distance. Or, connecting every human on the planet. Freethinking here. Creatively, I’ve always pondered ideas without restrictions on whether some things are possible or not.

The unavoidable rush hour crush. The place you’re most likely to think of when being challenged with personal space issues. There’s a certain temperament required in dealing with such an everyday happenstance. Requiring immense fortitude and forgiveness. How close is too close with your personal space?
The space between us is ever-present. It is a subjective space set forth by the lives we’ve led up to that point, and expectations of what we’ve seen, felt, and heard. Examine the different responses each person has in these crowded places.
People travel for entertainment, amusement and various attractions. Think of the challenges in placing oneself or group in crowded spaces. I believe travelers continuously weigh the issues of traveling in or through crowded spaces provided they enjoy themselves in the end.
Most of humanity yearns to be outdoors. The recent pandemic confirmed it. So, unless you’re outside of a city or town, the spaces between each person will be more confining.
Creative ideas don’t necessarily disappear if you don’t immediately consider them. They sometime germinate until the right time for them to bear fruit. Searching far back into my archive, the above photo is the earliest I’ve found with reference to the space between us.

The subway pictures were incredible. I don’t think I’d be able to do that everyday.
